Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. U-Boat from Lucca, Italy, owes its signature look to military instruments: generous cases, a massive crown and an uncompromising character. The U-Boat Darkmoon Anniversary Capsoil continues this approach with a round black 46 mm stainless steel case and a green dial. Power is provided by a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sleek and deep regardless of the light. There is no lack of protection: sapphire crystal, a screwed-down crown and water resistance up to 5 bar. The finish consists of a 22 mm silicone strap with a buckle. The case height remains within limits at 17 mm.
