Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. A watch for those who dare to stand out
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italo Fontana, who built upon the designs his grandfather created for the Italian Navy in the 1940s. This heritage is reflected in a 45mm round grey stainless steel case, set against a black dial. Powering it is an automatic Sellita movement (caliber SW500), offering a 41-hour power reserve and 26 jewels.
The movement draws its energy from wrist movement, making the watch low-maintenance for daily use. It includes a chronograph. Sapphire glass, a screwed-down crown, and water resistance up to 10 bar ensure it can withstand daily wear. It is worn on a 22mm leather strap with a buckle. With an 18mm case height, it remains comfortable to wear.
