Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. The Italian brand U-Boat from Lucca owes its signature style to military instruments: generous cases, a substantial crown, and an uncompromising character. This is translated here into a round 44mm stainless steel case, set against a black dial. Power is supplied by a Sellita automatic movement (calibre SW200-1), providing a power reserve of 41 hours and 26 jewels.
As a mechanical watch, it operates entirely on wrist movement, without a battery. Protection is not lacking: mineral glass and water resistance up to 5 bar. The watch is worn on a 22mm silicone strap with a buckle. The case height remains within reasonable limits at 18mm.
