Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. The Italian brand U-Boat from Lucca owes its signature to military instruments: generous cases, a substantial crown, and an uncompromising character. This version features a round 47 mm bronze case in stainless steel with a black dial. Behind the dial is an automatic movement from Sellita (calibre SW200-1), providing a power reserve of 41 hours and 26 jewel bearings.
A mechanical movement doesn't require a battery but does require attention: wear it regularly and it will keep itself going. Practically, it offers a date display. Protection is not lacking: sapphire crystal, a screwed-down crown, and water resistance up to 10 bar. The finish consists of a 23 mm leather strap with a buckle.
