Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. Since 2000, U-Boat has been building watches that don't go unnoticed, with a design language that directly harks back to marine instruments. This translates here into a round brown 44 mm stainless steel case, set against a black dial. The movement is a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sharp and deep regardless of the light. There is no lack of protection: mineral glass and water resistance up to 5 bar. On the wrist is a 22 mm leather strap with a buckle.
