Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italo Fontana, building on the designs his grandfather drew for the Italian navy in the 1940s. The U-Boat Darkmoon Blue IPB Soleil Capsoil continues that approach with a round black 44mm stainless steel case and a blue dial. Behind the dial is a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sleek and deep regardless of the light. Furthermore, there is sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and water resistance up to 5 bar. The finish consists of a 22 mm silicone strap with buckle.
