Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. Since 2000, U-Boat has been building watches that don't go unnoticed, with a design language that directly harks back to marine instruments. The U-Boat Capsoil Doppiotempo SS GMT continues this approach with a round 45mm silver stainless steel case and a black dial. Behind the dial is a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sharp and deep regardless of the light. In addition, there is a second time zone. Furthermore, it features sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and water resistance up to 10 bar. The watch is worn on a 22mm silicone strap with a buckle.
