Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. Since 2000, U-Boat has been building watches that cannot be ignored, with a design language that directly harks back to marine instruments. This is translated here into a round silver 41 mm stainless steel case, set against a blue dial. Power comes from a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sharp and deep regardless of the light. Furthermore, there is sapphire crystal, a screwed crown and water resistance up to 5 bar. A 20 mm silicone strap with buckle is attached to the wrist.
