Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. Since 2000, U-Boat has been building watches that don't go unnoticed, with a design language directly inspired by marine instruments. With the U-Boat Darkmoon Red SS Soleil Capsoil, this comes together in a round silver 40 mm stainless steel case under a red dial. Behind the dial is a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sleek and deep regardless of the light. Furthermore, it features sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and water resistance up to 5 bar. The watch is worn on a 20 mm silicone strap with a buckle.
