Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. A watch for those who dare to stand out
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italo Fontana, who built on the designs his grandfather drew for the Italian Navy in the 1940s. The U-Boat Darkmoon Grey Camouflage Capsoil brings this together in a round 44 mm grey stainless steel case under a black dial. Power comes from a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sleek and deep regardless of the light. There is no shortage of protection: sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and water resistance up to 5 bar. The watch is worn on a 22 mm silicone strap with a buckle.
