Over U-Boat
U-Boat was founded in 2000 by Italian designer Italo Fontana, inspired by his grandfather Ilvo's 1942 sketches, who was once commissioned to design watches for the Italian Navy. Each U-Boat watch is handcrafted in Tuscany, is immediately recognizable by its striking crown on the left side of the case, and combines Italian craftsmanship with Swiss precision movements. Since 2000, U-Boat has been building watches that cannot be ignored, with a design language that directly harks back to marine instruments. With the U-Boat Capsoil Doppiotempo DLC GMT, this comes together in a round 55 mm stainless steel case under a black dial. It is powered by a Ronda quartz movement (calibre 712.3).
The oil-filled Capsoil case completely suppresses reflections, making the dial look sleek and deep regardless of the light. Practically speaking, it offers a second time zone. Furthermore, it features sapphire crystal, a screwed crown and water resistance up to 10 bar. The finish consists of a 27 mm leather strap with a buckle.
